Sightseeing & Culture

Life here revolves around the 11-kilometer stretch of golden sand on Bournemouth’s coast. Slip your sandals off and walk barefoot down Britain’s best stretch of beaches. Stroll along the wood-planked Bournemouth Pier, a hive of activity stretching beyond the shore. Take in the seaside view from atop the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered helium balloon floating high above the city. Marvel at the rainbow-colored Pleasure Gardens, meticulously landscaped since the Victorian period.

Entertainment & Nightlife

Thanks in part to a large international student population; Bournemouth has established itself as one of Britain’s most popular clubbing destinations. Dance the night away at Elements, Bournemouth’s largest club, or The Opera House, a renovated 19th century theater turned live music and dancing venue. For a more sophisticated night out try the elegant Pavilion Theater which frequently hosts West End shows.
